Abstract.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a common neoplasia in Eurasian region that is associated with significant morbidity and mortality related to primary disease and its complications. Metastatic CRC that is hardly rarely curable is what oncologists often see in low and middle income countries. The management metastatic or advanced CRC has changed over the last 20 years and now requires the multidisciplinary approach and combination therapy including chemo-, radio- and surgical and endoscopic therapy.
The management of CRC related complications has become a focus of many specialists in surgery, palliative care, interventional radiologists. Most importantly the cases of bowel obstruction that in the past required surgical intervention or no intervention, these days is treated with stenting procedure performed by endoscopy. There are currently more options to the treatment and/or palliation of primary disease and its complications in patients with CRC and the advanced in medical care is continued.
