Abstract

Breast cancer (BSC) has long been a leading cause in the female population. According to this pathology, it ranks first in the percentage of deaths from oncological diseases among women. Recently, the widespread use of mammography as a screening examination method makes it possible to detect the disease at an early stage. At the same time, the increase in the intensity of this disease in young patients makes the widespread use of organ-preserving operations (OR) very urgent. During these operations, it is necessary to observe 2 important points: maximum oncological caution and preserving the aesthetic image of the organ. The improvement of the protocols of chemotherapy and radiotherapy opens wide opportunities for the successful implementation of organ-preserving operations. Taking into account the location of the disease, molecular-biological characteristics of the tumor, the degree of deterioration, and the use of combined and complex treatment methods ensure the correct selection of patients in the OC. This, in turn, has a positive effect on overall and relapse-free survival rates.
